Frances Christine was born August 18, 1949 in Flin Flon, Manitoba, the only child of Frank and Albertine McMartin. She grew up in Flin Flon and graduated from Hapnot Collegiate. Her childhood hobbies included piano, figure skating and ballet.
Frances attended University in Winnipeg where she obtained a bachelor of arts and a bachelor of recreation studies. She spent many years working at CIBC and finished her career working as a Community Health Developer for Primary Health. It was a job she loved with people she really enjoyed.
Fran had a number of hobbies in her adult years. She was very creative and sewed, painted, decorated cakes and made cards to name a few. She also continued with her love of music and taught many years of piano lessons to hundreds of children.
Fran had an immense love for dogs and spent much time walking with and caring for five springer spaniels over the years: Chloe, Bear, Spencer, Bailey and Emma. She spoke of her dogs often and she missed them dearly once they passed.
Predeceased by her parents, she leaves to mourn her three children Aaron, Nicole and Evynn, eight grandchildren Pierce, Faith, Logan, Sullivan, Mallory, Natalie, Henry and Anna, daughters-in-law Tamara and Amanda, son-in-law Allan and many, many other friends. Fran was a strong individual, full of grace and a love for life. She lived a life full of happiness and found joy in everything she did.
A private celebration was held to celebrate Fran’s life. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made to the SPCA.
