It is with sadness the family of Julia (Julie) Chambers announce that she passed away on December 3, 2020. Mercifully, Julie passed away peacefully in her own home.
Julie was born October 18, 1936 in Sclater, Manitoba to Nick and Mary Grocholski. She met her future husband, Walter Chambers, in Dauphin but they chose to build their life together in Flin Flon. Julie and Walter married in 1955 and together they raised sons Daryl and Glen and daughter Sharon.
Julie is predeceased by husband Walter, her parents and her brothers Steve and Metro. She is survived by son Daryl (Diane), daughter Sharon Strom, son Glen (Jackie), grandchildren Teslyn, Levi, Josh and Erin, her sister Rose Dzikowski, sister-in-law Sharon Grocholski, along with numerous nieces, nephews and wonderful friends.
Many people in the community reaped the benefits of Julie’s skill and passion for gardening. Playing in dirt was one of her favourite things to do and she did it exceptionally well. Julie loved fishing, she was a great cook and busy volunteer and she loved gathering to play bingo and cards with friends and family and, in fact, she happily won the last game of crib she played on this earth shortly before her passing
A Celebration of Life for Julie will be held at a later date when people can gather in person to honor her memory. An announcement will be made in advance.
